VETERANS RESOURCE CENTER

The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) assists California State University, Fullerton's military-connected students, including active duty, nation/state guard, prior service members (veterans), and military families with successfully navigating the academic environment through program development, academic guidance, support services, campus and community resources, and the certification of military educational benefits. The VRC is committed to offering comprehensive and personalized services within a unique learning community that facilitates the student's academic, personal, and professional goals.

 

PRIORITY REGISTRATION FOR MILITARY VETERANS, RESERVISTS, AND ACTIVE-DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS

CSUF matriculated students who are military veterans, reservists, and active-duty service members are eligible for priority registration of classes during their academic careers. Eligible CSUF students must provide proof of service (i.e. a DD-214 Member 4 Copy or current enlistment contract, or Enlist Record Brief, ERB) to the Veterans Resource Center at veterans@fullerton.eduOpens in new window .

Military veterans, reservists, and active-duty service members will receive a priority registration date.

 

VA EDUCATION BENEFITS

Veterans may obtain information concerning application for benefits, registration, and adjustments in status from the Veterans Certification Coordinator located in Veterans Recourse Center (GH-244). New, returning, and transfer student veterans are highly encouraged to consult the Veterans Advising Coordinator to complete the necessary documents to receive VA benefits. VETERANS ADMINISTRATION VETERANS READINESS AND EMPLOYMENT (VR&E/CH 31)  

VR&E/Ch 31 paperwork must be turned into the Veterans Resource Center at veterans@ fullerton.eduOpens in new window or by calling (657) 278-2373 at least three weeks before the term begins. The VRC Advising Coordinators will arrange your parking, books and tuition.

 

CAL-VET FEE WAIVER (COLLEGE FEE WAIVER)

The Cal-Vet Fee Waiver is only available to the dependent child spouse, or unmarried surviving spouse of a veteran who has a service-connected disability or is deceased. Submit the approval letter of authorization for the appropriate academic year to the Veteran Resource CenterOpens in new window (GH-244) or via email at veterans@fullerton.edu at least fourteen (14) business days prior to the payment deadline. Cal-Vet Fee Waiver renewal application starts in May and must be renewed every academic year.

 

VETERAN FEE DEFERMENT OPTION

Veterans who are attending their first semester at CSUF and who have submitted the appropriate paperwork to use their GI Bill benefits at this campus are eligible for a veteran fee deferment option. Please arrange for fee deferments with the Veteran Resource Center (GH-244) at least five business days prior to your Titan registration appointment. PROGRAMS AND SERVICE

The Veterans Resource Center has many programs aimed to help military connected students navigate the transition to and throughout college. The space includes a lounge, computer lab, kitchenette, and quiet room. VRC services consists of peer mentoring, benefit advising, health and wellness, discussion and support groups, scholarships, and career readiness.
